PIEF offers high quality programs that are industry current and nationally accredited.

These programs are designed for those currently working in the personal injury industry or in the public sector. Assessment tasks are based on real industry tasks, helping you apply and hone the skills and knowledge you gain during your studies in the workplace.  PIEF's training team offer a range of support from re-setting passwords to one-on-one coaching.  The enrolment duration of a full qualification is usually 12 months.

FNS42120 Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management

Learners can choose from two streams: Claims Management and Return to Life. The Claims Management stream is suitable for those working in a Case Management role within an Agent or Insurer.

This program recognises the challenges faced by case managers in their roles and offers participants the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills in managing claims, client and stakeholder relationships, problem solving, negotiation, dispute management and the establishment of effective workplace relationships. 

The Return to Life stream suits Return to Work and Injury Management Coordinators (and similar roles) and offers learners the opportunity to build their ability to support injured people in their recovery and returning to health, community and work.

FNS51920 Diploma of Personal Injury and Disability Insurance Management

This qualification is suited to existing and aspiring leaders who apply initiative to plan, coordinate and evaluate their own work and provide guidance and leadership to others, in Workers Compensation, Compulsory Third Party or Disability Insurance Management. 

PIEF'S Diploma program provides learners with three different options: Advanced Case Management, Advanced Return to Work or Leadership.

PSP50122 Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection)

This course is ideal for those working in independent and self-directed work in the public sector.

The workplace inspection specialisation covers the skills required for those responsible for the conduct of statutory investigation and enforcement requirements under any of the following legislative frameworks: work health and safety, workers' compensation, injury management and workplace relations.

Requirements for Tasmania

If you work as an Injury Management Coordinator (IMC) you must complete training approved by the WorkCover Tasmania Board. As of 1 March 2021, the approved course of training for IMCs is a Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management (FNS42120) or a Diploma of Personal Injury and Disability Insurance Management (FNS51920). As part of your study, you are encouraged to select units with a return to work focus.

If you work as a Return to Work Coordinator (RTWC), the WorkCover Tasmania Board encourages RTWCs to complete 3 units of competency with a return to work focus.
