Who can Apply?
To be eligible to undertake the certification examination, applicants must have a combination of education and documented work experience in injury management/return to work. The information below identifies the education and experience required in order to be eligible to apply for the certification examination.
Option 1
Education
Masters degree in health related field plus diploma, certificate or short course in Injury Management or RTW Coordination.
Work Experience Required
600 FTE hours (approx. 4 months) performing roles and responsibilities, preferably with some supervision by a Injury Management or RTW Coordinator, plus a letter of verification from your supervisor.
Evidence Required
Academic transcript and letter of verification from supervisor.
Option 2
Education
Masters degree in health related field.
Work Experience Required
900 FTE hours (approx. 6 months) performing roles and responsibilities, preferably with some supervision by a Injury Management or RTW Coordinator, plus a letter of verification from your supervisor.
Evidence Required
Academic transcript and letter of verification from supervisor.
Option 3
Education
Bachelors degree in health related field plus diploma, certificate or short course equivalents in Injury Management or RTW Coordination.
Work Experience Required
600 FTE hours (approx. 4 months) performing roles and responsibilities, preferably with some supervision by a Injury Management or RTW Coordinator, plus a letter of verification from your supervisor.
Evidence Required
Academic transcript and letter of verification from supervisor.
Option 4
Education
Diploma or certificate program in Injury Management.
Work Experience Required
1800 FTE hours (approx. 1 year) performing roles and responsibilities, with at least 50% or more of time in the delivery of Injury Management services supervised by qualified Injury Management supervisor or management representative, plus a letter of verification from your supervisor.
Evidence Required
Academic transcript and letter of verification from supervisor.
Option 5
Education
Other educational experiences, credentials plus short courses in an Injury Management program, principles and delivery.
Work Experience Required
3600 FTE hours (approx. 2 years) performing roles and responsibilities with at least 50% of time in the delivery of Injury Management or Return to Work services supervised by Injury Management or Return to Work Coordinator, plus a letter of verification from our supervisor.
Evidence Required
Evidence of experience, credentials, courses etc.
Once eligibility to sit the examination has been confirmed, applicants receive a list of reference materials and a summary of the 9 domains of essential skills and competencies.
