Features of the Program

Content:
The program, Understanding Accident Compensation in Australia and New Zealand is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of workers' compensation schemes and compulsory third party insurance and aims to give participants a better understanding of how accident compensation schemes work across Australia and New Zealand. The module includes information on the way that each scheme deals with key aspects such as the size and nature of the schemes, coverage, benefits, self-insurance, common law and dispute resolution.

The module will provide a comprehensive overview of:

  • Information on the evolution of workers' compensation schemes in Australia and New Zealand
  • workers' compensation insurance
  • information on the evolution of compulsory third party insurance in Australia and New Zealand
  • compulsory third party insurance
  • information on scheme funding arrangements
  • information on accident compensation benefits
  • information on confidentility / privacy issues.

 

Delivery:
The program, Understanding Accident Compensation in Australia and New Zealand is delivered online with the support of a facilitator who moderates activities and discussions.

You are provided with content, activities (including case studies) and opportunities to participate in facilitated online discussion.  


Assessment:

The module is assessed through the completion of a quiz and participation in online discussions.

The estimated time required to complete the module is 6 to 8 hours over ten days.
