PIEF Team

The PIEF team is small, professional and committed. The team consists of:

Nathan_melb_100Nathan Clarke, Executive Manager
Nathan Clarke has been Executive Manager and Company Secretary of the Personal Injury Education Foundation since its establishment in early 2006.

As Executive Manager of PIEF, Nathan has ultimate responsibility for ensuring the success of PIEF’s education programs, certification programs, awards, conferences, seminars and events.  Furthermore, Nathan is responsible for all board reporting and strategic planning of PIEF.

Prior to joining PIEF, Nathan worked for WorkSafe Victoria for 11 years in a variety in legislative, policy and program development roles and was instrumental in developing and implementing vocational qualifications for case managers in the Victorian Workers' Compensation Scheme in 2004 and 2005.


Joan_melb_100Joan Holschier, Program Manager
Now working in her role of Program Manager, Joan Holschier had been the Education Manager for PIEF since March 2010, responsible for managing a range of programs including the postgraduate programs and the Return to Work Management Training Program.

Prior to this appointment Joan was the National Certification Coordinator with responsibilities for the development and implementation of the National Institute for Disability Management and Research certification and training programs.

Joan has extensive experience in managing the design and delivery of postgraduate and vocational programs in corporate and government environments. Her previous learning and development role involved the management of the development and delivery of the Diploma of Workers Compensation (Personal Injury). This program was first delivered to WorkSafe Victoria’s Agents in 2007.


Brent_melb_100Brent Letson, Program Development Consultant
Prior to commencing in the role of Program Development Consultant, Brent Letson was working as PIEF's National Certification Coordinator, and has been involved in a range of PIEF projects since 2009.

As National Certification Coordinator, Brent was responsible for managing the implementation and development of the National Institute for Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR) certification programs into Australia.  He was also responsible for the development and implementation of the Certified Personal Injury Professional (CPIP) designation for claims management professionals.

Prior to joining PIEF, Brent worked in the People and Capability branch at Worksafe Victoria, designing, developing and delivering technical and vocational programs for WorkSafe Victoria's Insurance Agents. Brent also comes from secondary education and allied health backgrounds, with 10 years experience as an exercise physiologist and 6 years as a secondary school teacher.



Mandi_melb_100Amanda Johnston, Systems Administrator
Amanda Johnston has responsibility for the development and maintenance of PIEF's website and blog, as well as the ongoing development of the team's technology infrastructure. Previous to this role, Amanda had been working in the role of Education Consultant, working with the PIEF team providing advice and assistance in the support and development of existing and new educational initiatives.  

Amanda's role prior to 2010 was as PIEF's Education Manager.  In this role, she had been involved in the development and support of the personal injury postgraduate programs.

 


Lina_melb_100Lina Guarnera, Program Administrator
Lina Guarnera has been the Program Administrator since January 2011 and has been responsible for co-ordinating PIEF's events and programs including the postgraduate program and the Return to Work Management Training Program.  

Prior to joining PIEF, Lina worked in the Premium Compliance branch of WorkSafe Victoria, conducting premium audits. 

 

 

Lisa_melb_100Lisa‐Maria La Porte, Program Officer
Lisa‐Maria was recently appointed to the Program Officer role at PIEF.

Lisa‐Maria joined WorkSafe Victoria in February 2010 as a Graduate Project Officer, where she had the opportunity to work on a range of projects across several divisions. During this time, she also took on the role of WorkSafe Week Event Coordinator for three months, assisting with the coordination and facilita‐ tion of events.

Prior to joining WorkSafe, Lisa‐Maria worked as a Marketing Assistant for FMCG pharmaceuticals where she was involved with developing marketing and communications material. She completed a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) in 2008 and also undertook a three month marketing/operations internship during this time.
